Rae Soble Branch - Gottfried

From recollection, records and various memories:
Isaac Sivius, with his eldest sone Sam, left Kristlev, Ukraine, Russia about 1900 bound for Philadelphia Pennsylvannia. Sam became ill while in England and joined hsi father later, acquiring the surname Woldman at immigration, whiile Issac bcame Soble (Nathan insisted it was "Sobel"). Sam's wife, Rose, and their daughter Jennie, joined him in Philadelphia, then moved to Mason City, Iowa to be with Rose's sister. Anna and the children left in 1902; Esther became ill en route and Rae stayed with her until she recovered, then completed the journey, joining the family in Philadelphia. As Rae remembered, as young as she was, she arrived on a Friday and her father had a job waiting for her on Monday. Eventually, except for Sam, the entire family moved to Union Street, where they lived in a communal close family life as neighbors for many years, and where most of the grandchildren were born.
